As a Senior Staff Specialist Package Layout (f/m/d) in our Research & Development team, you'll have the opportunity to merge creativity with your technical expertise by shaping the future of technology, driving groundbreaking projects, and bringing new ideas to life.
Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Develop package layouts for laminate-based Power Products (Chip Embedding) and PCB module designs, ensuring high performance and cost efficiency
- Collaborate closely with Package Concept Engineering, Product Design & Development, and Simulation teams to create optimized packaging solutions
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DfM) principles throughout the package layout development process
- Conduct technical alignment and design reviews with external manufacturing partners and OSATs, supporting successful layout releases
- Contribute to innovations in layout automation, generation, and validation as part of Infineon's global layout community
- Evaluate and implement advanced layout concepts to enhance reliability, manufacturability, and product performance
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical discipline
- At least 5 years of professional experience in power semiconductor products and PCB/package layout development
- Strong hands‑on expertise with CAD tools and layout environments, such as AutoCAD, Cadence, and K-Layout
- Solid understanding of laminate materials, PCB technologies, and manufacturing processes
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and international project teams as well as with external partners
- Fluent English communication skills are required; German language skills are beneficial
