Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of digital design engineers by fostering technical excellence, setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring ongoing skill development to meet organizational objectives
- Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of high-quality digital IPs for automotive microcontrollers, adhering to stringent automotive and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, AEC-Q100) and meeting rigorous quality and reliability requirements
- Manage all phases of the digital design lifecycle, including architecture definition, RTL coding, synthesis, timing closure, and design verification
- Drive innovation in IP design by incorporating the latest methodologies, tools, and technologies for efficiency and performance optimization
- Collaborate with system architects, verification teams, physical design teams, and firmware/software teams to ensure seamless integration of IPs into the microcontroller ecosystem
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks during the design process, ensuring adherence to milestones and budgets, while serving as the primary point of contact for IP-related requirements, risks, and status updates
- Provide clear and regular communication on progress, challenges, and resource needs to the CoC Head and other stakeholders
Your Profile
As a Engineering Manager – Digital Design, you can inspire others and encourage them for the common goal. Furthermore, you focus your efforts on finding solutions that offer added value for both sides. Lastly, you are able to quickly establish a successful cooperation.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- At least 10+ years of experience in digital design for complex semiconductor products, with a strong focus on microcontroller architectures and IP development
- Proven leadership experience, managing teams of design engineers in a high-performance environment
- In-depth knowledge of automotive-grade requirements, including functional safety and reliability standards such as ISO 26262
- Hands-on expertise in RTL coding (e.g., Verilog, SystemVerilog), synthesis, and timing closure
- Strong understanding of digital design flows and tools, including front-end design and verification tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor)
- Knowledge of microcontroller subsystems, including clocks, reset controllers, communication interfaces, and power management
- Familiarity with low-power design techniques, DFT, and performance optimization
- Experience in IP-level verification environments and methodologies (e.g., UVM)
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and geographies
