Internship - Financial Reporting

The student will be involved in the following activities: 1) Month-end closing and reporting activities 2) Support in monthly financial review and trend analysis 3) Government survey reporting

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• 1) Month-end closing and reporting activities:
  – Familiarize and support in month-end closing and reporting process
  – Familiarize with the company’s Chart of Account and how the information flows to different financial positions of the financial statements
  – Analyze intercompany transactions and how it is linked to related party transaction disclosure in financial statements.
  – Support in the preparation of the month end audit schedules according to accounting principles
  – Hands-on experience in SAP system as well as other tools that are involved in data extraction and monthly review such as KNIME and Analysis for excel
• 2) Support in monthly financial review and trend analysis:
  – Prepare Tableau dashboard for monthly financial review meeting
  – Learn to build data, re-organize and analyze the trend using tableau dashboard
  – Learn to build new charts using Tableau
• 3) Government survey reporting:
  – Learn to extract data from system to complete government survey forms either directly using SAP system and reporting tool (i.e. Analysis for Excel)
  – Streamline the process and review for improvement in survey preparation

Internship Learning Outcomes:

• Gain exposure to SAP and accounting tools and in the course of the project involvement, also be exposed to new tools
• Enhance soft skills such as communication, presentation and project management skills by interacting with various stakeholders
• Have better understanding of the financial reporting as well as accounting standards and how it applies to financial numbers
• Improve in analytical skills as the students learn to review and understand the link between the numbers to storyline

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• On track to attaining Bachelors in accounting and finance related courses
• Analytical, meticulous with strong communication skills and strong team player with collaborative mindset
• Proficient in excel, technology savvy and experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar, is an advantage
• Preferred Internship Period: Jun 26 – Dec 26
