Manager, Export control Officer (Location：Tokyo)

Your Role

You will be responsible for ensuring export control compliance, including managing export licenses, monitoring, training, auditing, and process innovation to ensure adherence to export regulations.

1. Export Control Compliance:
– Ensure adherence to national and global export control regulations (e.g. JP, US, EU, German) and anti-terrorism laws.
– Manage export licenses, integrating export controls guidelines into processes and IT systems.
2. Controlling and Monitoring Activities:
– Ensure the accurate classification of goods, technology, and software, and oversee the timely approval of blocked orders, shipments, or technology transfers in compliance with export control regulations.
3. Advisory Support:
– Offer expert guidance for export control issues across business units in Japan and act as a backup for operations when needed.
4. Training and Awareness:
– Designed and conduct training programs for teams / site employees, building export compliance awareness
5. Audit and Compliance Management:
– primary point of contact for internal and external export compliance audits
6. Process Innovation and Collaboration:
– Lead export control digitalization initiatives and represent Japan in regional compliance workshops.

Your Profile

• Work Experience : Well-versed in Japan export control laws & International export control regulations; Minimum 5 years’ experience in driving export control process including classification, licensing, restricted party screening, etc.

• Language Requirements : Strong communication skills (spoken and written) in English & Japanese; Proficiency in engaging with cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating effectively in multinational environment

• Soft Skills : Strong Analytical Thinking. Effective Communication Skills, Problem-Solving Abilities, Collaboration and Teamwork

• Educational Background : Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field (Certifications in export controls regulations preferred)
