The Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of network operations. This role combines deep networking knowledge with strong software and scripting capabilities to automate repetitive tasks, support zero touch provisioning, enhance monitoring, and improve overall operational excellence within the network infrastructure and NOC environment.
Your Role
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our IT Department in Budapest. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and security of our network services. Collaborating closely with international teams to design and implement seamless network solutions that drive business success and meet our organizational connectivity objectives.
Key responsibilities in your new role:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, YAML, JSON, or similar tools
- Automate network configurations, device provisioning, compliance checks, and operational workflows
- Collaborate with NOC teams to identify repetitive operational tasks and automate them for efficiency and accuracy
- Improve fault detection, incident response, and change execution through automation and orchestration
- Assist in troubleshooting automated workflows and network issues across routing, switching, firewall, wireless, and SD‑WAN domains
- Proactively checking network performance and ensuring system availability and reliability
- Provide technical support as needed to maintain the network operation objective
- Participate in an on-call (24×7) support rotation with other members of the NOC
Your Profile
You are a detail-oriented individual with analytical skills, who enjoys working with others to achieve common goals. You are results-driven and adaptable with a strong passion for delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced network environment.
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks
- Hands‑on experience with scripting languages (Python preferred)
- Practical knowledge of Ansible, Git, CI/CD, YAML/JSON, REST APIs
- Experience with enterprise network devices (Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Forcepoint, etc.)
- Familiarity with NOC operations and ITIL processes
