Key responsibilities in your new role
To maximize factory throughput and deliver orders on time while keeping inventory levels as low as possible, including;
- Daily Scheduling: Translating monthly customer demand forecasts into actionable daily and weekly production schedules.
- Lot Release (WIP Injection): Calculating and releasing the exact number of production lots (or wafers/chips) into the line to prevent bottlenecks.
- Material Readiness: Verifying that all raw materials, lead frames, substrates, and components are physically available before starting a run.
- WIP Flow Management: Monitoring Work-In-Progress (WIP) levels across different manufacturing stations (e.g., Die Attach, Wire Bond, Testing)to ensure smooth product movement.
- Bottleneck Mitigation: Identifying equipment constraints or sudden machine breakdowns, and dynamically rerouting production lots to alternative lines.
- "Hot Lot" Management: Fast-tracking urgent customer orders or engineering engineering samples through the factory without disrupting the standard production flow.
- Cycle Time Tracking: Monitoring the actual time it takes for a product to go from start to finish, ensuring it meets target cycle times.
- On-Time Delivery (OTD): Ensuring the factory meets its commitments to global distribution centers and clients.
- Inventory Control: Managing and minimizing aging WIP, slow-moving stock, and excess inventory sitting on the shop floor.
- Engineering Alignment: Coordinating with maintenance and equipment engineers to schedule planned preventive maintenance (PM) during low-impact windows.
- Supervisor Collaboration: Partnering with Production Supervisors to ensure the shop floor operators are executing the schedule according to the day's true priorities.
- Global Supply Chain Sync: Interfacing with regional supply chain hubs(e.g., Singapore) to report on capacity constraints, yield losses, or output delays
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or Business Administration.
- Experience Level: Senior/Staff Specialists (5+ years) handling complex multi-site constraints.
- Data Proficiency: Mastery of Advanced Excel (Macros, VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and data analysis tools to track performance variances.
- Systems Architecture: Direct experience navigating ERP systems (SAP) and computerized Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to map material movements and release production lots.
- Dynamic Scheduling: Developing and executing production master schedules based on volatile demand forecasts while keeping Work-In-Progress (WIP)levels lean.
- Bottleneck Resolution: Constant calculation of machine capacity limitations, cycle times, and equipment availability to maximize factory utilization.
- Inventory & Shortage Mitigation: Monitoring buffer stocks, tracking raw materials/wafer arrivals, and coordinating with procurement to eliminate line-stoppage risks.
- Lean Methodologies: Applied understanding of Pull Systems, Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) principles to streamline shopfloor workflows.
- English: Strong professional command (written and verbal). The planner interacts heavily with ERP systems, global supply chain planning hubs and generates English-language utilization reports.
- Thai: Fluent/Native to quickly coordinate with local shopfloor leads and engineering staff regarding physical material status.
