As a CAD/EDA Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and support to ensure the smooth operation of our electronic design automation tools and systems, enabling our design teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and effectively.

In your new role you will:

  • Provide expert technical support to the R&D team in Dublin, addressing their daily challenges related to the IC development environment, including IT infrastructure, EDA software, digital design, and verification methodologies
  • Develop and implement project-specific solutions, such as workarounds and bug fixes, and escalate larger issues to the next level of support within the company or engage with EDA vendors as needed
  • Serve as a key interface between CAD, IT, and the Dublin R&D engineers, driving the adoption of new methodologies in IP design and verification projects, and collaborating with methodology teams to implement enhancements
  • Proactively engage with IP design and verification projects to ensure the effective application of design methodologies, EDA tools, and optimal utilization of the IT compute farm
  • Collaborate closely with the global CAD support community, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive continuous improvement and excellence in CAD support

Your exceptional communication skills enable you to be an effective technical liaison, establishing lasting relationships and networks with colleagues, stakeholders, and EDA vendors effortlessly. Additionally, you maintain high-quality standards in your work, supported by your excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring that technical solutions meet the needs of the R&D teams and the business. Your focus on technical excellence ensures that others can quickly grasp key technical concepts for informed decision-making

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in a CAD/EDA or Digital design/verification role
  • Strong expertise in EDA tools from Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux, with experience in compute farm environments and data management systems (e.g., Perforce, Git)
  • Expertise in Digital Design and Verification, exposure to HDls like Verilog or VHD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English
