Overview

As a member of our Research & Development team, you will shape the future of automotive technology by developing embedded firmware for Ethernet switches, guiding projects from concept to production, and participating in cross‑functional collaboration.

Your Role

  • Architect, design, and develop embedded firmware for automotive Ethernet switches with a focus on performance, stability, and maintainability.
  • Interpret hardware specifications and design documents to translate requirements into robust, production‑ready code that meets Infineon’s high quality standards.
  • Integrate customer use cases into firmware design, proactively identifying and resolving critical technical issues.
  • Debug at the hardware and timing layer using industry‑leading tools (GDB, JTAG, Trace32, Lauterbach).
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to analyze customer challenges, prioritize solutions, and deliver seamless integration.
  • Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and test plans to ensure adherence to safety standards such as ISO26262 and ASIL compliance.

Your Profile

We are looking for a seasoned engineer who thrives in tackling complex firmware challenges and is ready to drive innovation in embedded systems, real‑time operating environments, and automotive safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
  • Expertise in C, C++, and shell scripting with a strong grasp of Linux‑based environments.
  • Proven debugging skills at both the hardware layer and timing analysis level.
  • Demonstrated experience in embedded firmware architecture and safety design principles (fail‑safe states, isolation, redundancy, error monitoring and memory management).
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, datasheets, timing diagrams, and Layer‑2 protocols (PTP, TSN, MKA). Familiarity with MACsec and automotive safety frameworks like ISO26262 and ASIL levels.
  • Clear, fluent communication in English and strong collaboration skills.
