Overview
In this Senior Principal Engineer role, you will define the architecture for a next-generation microcontroller platform within Infineon’s R&D team. You will steer scalable SoC solutions, oversee risk management, and drive feasibility studies that balance cost, performance, power, and software usability. You’ll mentor a cross-disciplinary team and push innovation in microcontroller platform and SoC architecture. The role offers significant impact on product direction, technical strategy, and collaboration with industry partners.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead the definition of SoC architecture for next-generation microcontroller platform
- Define scalable architecture solutions for MCUs including compute clusters, external memory interfaces, high-speed links, and accelerator subsystems
- Own product requirements and risk management for all areas of the SoC architecture
- Drive feasibility studies and evaluate impacts on cost, performance, power, and software usability
- Conduct performance, power and area analyses and optimizations
- Guide a community of architects, designers, physical implementation, and verification engineers
- Ensure architectural consistency and drive stakeholder decisions across technical marketing, project owners, and development teams
- Proactively drive innovation in MCU platform and SoC architecture
- Act as a mentor and collaborate with universities
Zentrale Anforderungen
- At least 15 years of experience in SoC architectures and design/implementation in leading-edge semiconductor technology nodes
- Profound understanding of high-performance SoC architectures for low-latency, real-time applications
- Hands-on experience with multi-core subsystems, interconnects, and memory hierarchies
- Experience with architecture exploration and PPA estimation
- Hands-on proficiency in modelling (SystemC, RTL, MBSE) and analytical tooling (programming, simulators, tracing)
- Knowledge in power management and low-power techniques
- Automotive domain knowledge is a plus, especially for automotive MCUs
- Functional Safety and Security knowledge (ISO 26262 or ISO 21434) is a plus
- Excellent technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration in a multicultural environment
