Overview
As BW on HANA Architect you will define and govern end-to-end SAP BW/HANA data architecture to support enterprise analytics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable scalable reporting and data integration aligned with business needs. The role centers on designing robust data models and governing data flow from source systems through BW to enable efficient analytics and transformation initiatives. This is a chance to shape architecture for SAP BW/BW/4HANA in a large, global delivery environment.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Define BW on HANA / BW/4HANA architecture strategy
- Design data models (InfoProviders, ADSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views)
- Establish data flow architecture between source systems and BW
- Lead data warehousing standards and best practices
- Drive BW to HANA/BW/4HANA transformation roadmap
- Identify and implement code pushdown optimizations
- Plan and execute migration of legacy BW objects and simplification/decommissioning
- Architect data ingestion frameworks (ODP, SLT, SDA, SDI, APIs)
- Ensure optimal data staging and transformation layers
- Design real-time / near-real-time integration scenarios
- Oversee data harmonization and data quality frameworks
- Optimize data models and queries (BEx, Analysis for Office, SAC)
- Leverage HANA-native capabilities (Calculation Views, CDS views)
- Define architecture for BEx / Analysis for Office, SAP BO WebI
- Enable self-service BI and semantic layer design
- Provide technical leadership across BW team
- Review functional specs, technical designs, and code quality
- Ensure alignment with SOW, SLAs, and delivery
- Collaborate with Functional, Integration, and Business stakeholders
- Drive client discussions on scope, feasibility, and roadmap
- Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture
- Contribute inputs for estimation and planning
