Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a dynamic and flexible Business Consultant to join our team.

This role involves understanding and improving business processes, managing change initiatives related to Enterprise Data Management, and ensuring data governance. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Our Business Consultant will play a pivotal role in advising clients on business strategies, gathering and defining business processes, requirements, and pain points, and synthesizing findings into comprehensive solutions. This role acts as the bridge between IT and the business to ensure that business needs are met effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Process Analysis and Advisory

  • Communicate with key business stakeholders to gather requirements, business needs, and strategic objectives.
  • Understand and document current business processes related to Data Management, to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement optimized business processes.
  • Collaborate and interact with client’s different departments to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Translate technical information appropriately to different levels of the client organization.
  • Verify, trace, and manage functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Facilitate and capture business/technical requirements from legacy systems for modernization.

Data Governance and Data Management

  • Assess current data governance and Data Management practices and recommend improvements.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for data management.
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Facilitate data governance and data management meetings and ensure effective communication.

Change Management

  • Support change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Communicate the need for change and its benefits to stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support new processes.
  • Develop and communicate Enterprise Data Management topics to both business and technical resources.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for changes.

Client Engagement

  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and challenges.
  • Provide strategic advice on system migrations and data initiatives.
  • Conduct workshops and meetings to gather insights and feedback.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality solutions.

Types of Clients

The consultant will work with a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, mid-sized enterprises, and startups across various industries. These clients may be looking to enhance their digital presence, streamline business processes, or implement new technologies to drive growth and efficiency.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proven capabilities in business analysis and strategic advisory.
  • Knowledge of formal requirements gathering methodologies.
  • Confidence in tackling new business or technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for conversing with clients and gathering business requirements.
  • Experience creating business process flows.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated success as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Disciplined curiosity: interest in asking ‘why’ and synthesizing important findings into alternatives and recommendations.
  • Role is remote, but has potential for up to 25% travel (Monday through Thursday).

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) are desirable.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data management tools is a plus.
  • Full-time and remote position.
