Senior Electrical Engineer in München

Senior Electrical Engineer in München

München Vollzeit Vor Ort
I

InLoop builds warehouse robots that run fully autonomously in customer warehouses today. The fleet is growing quickly, and the demand is huge.

We're hiring a senior electrical engineer to own the electrical side of the robot: harnesses, power, boards and the safety circuit. You'll work directly with our hardware team and make the electrical calls on every robot we ship.

This is a hands on role. You design the harness and then build the first one yourself. Some weeks that's laying out a board, some weeks it's rewiring an arm on the bench.

What you'll work on first

  • Wiring through moving parts. Cable choice, routing through joints, bend radius, torsion, flex life, strain relief and abrasion. The arm harness has to bend, twist, survive scratches and take a hit when the arm collides with something. Getting this right is the main reason we're hiring.
  • Arm wiring. Rework the wiring on our arms, from picking the cable and connectors to building the first set.
  • Power. Supplies, fusing and distribution across the robot, including regenerative current from the motors, ESD and grounding.
  • Safety circuit. Design the e-stop and safety circuit to ISO 13849 and IEC 60204-1, fully independent of the AI, and own it through our CE process.
  • Compute board. Design our own carrier board for a Jetson Orin module with GMSL2 cameras, power, CAN and I/O on one board, replacing the off the shelf boxes we use today. You'll work from our camera vendor's reference design and with an external design house where it makes sense.
  • Production test. Build the electrical checks every robot passes before it leaves our assembly line.
  • The whole robot. Anything electrical that makes the robot more reliable, cheaper or faster to build.

What we're looking for

  • 3 to 5 years designing electrical systems for things that move: robot arms, mobile robots, actuated mechanisms, automotive or drones
  • You've designed harnesses that run through joints or other moving parts, and you've seen how they fail
  • You've designed PCBs yourself and brought them up on the bench
  • DC power distribution, motor power and protection circuits
  • Hands on with machine safety (ISO 13849 or IEC 62061, and IEC 60204-1) or e-stop circuits that went through a CE assessment or audit
  • You think across the mechanical and electrical boundary: strain relief, enclosures, tolerances, heat
  • You've made electronics survive real environments: dust, vibration, ESD and electrical noise
  • You design for the hundredth robot, not just the first one
  • You're as comfortable with a soldering iron and crimp tool as you are in KiCad or Altium
  • Comfortable in mechanical CAD: routing a harness through the arm model, designing a bracket or a strain relief

Nice to have

  • Carrier board design around a Jetson module, including GMSL2 cameras (deserializer, power over coax, MIPI CSI)
  • Debugging CAN and Ethernet on a running robot
  • EMC pre-compliance and testing
  • Li-ion packs, BMS and charging
  • Embedded Linux and sensor integration
  • German
  • Driving license
