The Engine Investigation Specialist (m/f/d) acts as technical engine investigation expert and is responsible for the execution of engine investigation projects or warranty parts/systems. Key deliverables of the job are maintaining and improving KPI’s for engine and warranty part investigations, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment with all relevant roles involved and initiate process and technical improvements in order to guarantee a positive and sustainable customer experience.

Your Responsibilities:
Execute technical engine and warranty parts investigation and ensure communication of new findings
Ensure KPI’s of engine investigations are met, support cycle time of warranty investigations
Work on new unplanned engine removals in cooperation with the Service operations team to define next steps and to summarize the outcome for management updates
Carry out pre-investigations of engine damages prior to engine arrival in Jenbach to support management decisions on further approach
Identify additional requirements to maintain and improve the engine investigation cycle times and the investigation quality
Observe the disassembly process of an engine, taking records during and about the disassembly, taking good quality photos of the components disassembled from the engine, identifying component issues and damages, taking measurements of torques, dimensions etc.
Investigate components by using borescope, videoscope, microscope etc.; initiate detailed investigation in INNIO’s measurement lab, material analysis lab or at external parties
Work directly with O&R team to resolve high urgency engine investigations
Support discussions with external experts/parties/suppliers and customers
Execute mechanical investigations for warranty parts/systems and postprocess in ERP system
Support issue resolution on component or subsystem level, work together with quality and engineering team
Compile and document results as well as carry out basic and where needed scientific data analyses of engine, warranty and component failures
Analyse data exports from the engine control systems, analyze oil analysis reports, retrieve data stored on myPlant, compile and upload summary to warranty cases or compile written engine investigation reports
Work on several projects simultaneously, under the supervision and guidance of senior engineers and managers
Flexibility to attend any other reasonable tasks as required
Organize additional investigations like pressure testing, crack testing, material testing, dimensional measurements, surface roughness measurements, test assemblies for damage verification
Support overall investigation team with 3rd-level support of field topics
Your Profile:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, HTL-engineer or craftsman’s master exam in mechanical engineering are acceptable as well based on years of experience
Several years of experience with Jenbacher products and control systems preferred or adequate experience in operation and maintenance of reciprocating engines and their systems in general is required
Expert knowledge about use of borescope, videoscope, microscope, digital photography
Previous experience of data analysis techniques is crucial
Expert knowledge about material testing and measurement methods beneficial
Willingness to travel occasionally on short notice ( Strong analytical and project management skills
Strong customer focus mentality
Team player and highly reliable with a high Say-Do ratio
Ability to interface and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels
German is essential, minimum B2 level or higher
English skills on B1 or B2-level (desired)
