Project Manager, Fire Protection Location: Visp (VS), Switzerland, 100% on-site Context As part of major investment projects at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site, you will make sure fire protection systems are properly designed, installed, tested and handed over to operations. You will be the technical reference for fire protection across the project and the link between engineering teams, contractors and the site fire brigade. Your missions Help define and roll out fire protection concepts and requirements for new projects Coordinate with architects, engineering partners, fire protection specialists, project teams and the site fire brigade Lead the technical follow-up of fire protection systems: sprinklers, deluge systems, dry extinguishing systems, firewater networks and firewater retention Manage the contractors and suppliers who install these systems Keep the project on track for cost, schedule, quality and compliance Take part in 3D design reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to solve technical issues and clashes Supervise commissioning, functional testing and acceptance of fire protection systems Take part in integrated system tests with engineering teams, contractors and stakeholders Collect and review as-built documentation and ensure a smooth handover to operations and end users Support other engineering activities within the project team when needed What it takes to succeed Solid technical command of fire protection systems and of the rules that apply to them The ability to steer contractors and keep many stakeholders aligned A structured, rigorous approach, with close attention to detail Autonomy in a complex, multidisciplinary environment Clear communication in German, the main working language on site Profile required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering, or a related field 5 to 10 years of experience in engineering, project execution or operations in pharma, biotech, chemicals or a related industry Extensive hands-on experience with fire protection systems and Swiss regulations and standards (e.g. VKF, SES) Knowledge of GMP and cleanroom environments is a plus VKF certification (e.g. “Fachperson für Wasserlöschanlagen VKF”) is a strong advantage Languages: German business fluent (required), English basic to intermediate (preferred), French is a plus Key competencies Technical expertise in fire protection systems and infrastructure Knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations and industry standards Understanding of fire risk assessments and how to choose between wet and dry suppression technologies for industrial, pharmaceutical, laboratory and utility facilities Experience with commissioning and integrated testing Contractor and stakeholder management Strong communication and collaboration skills in German and English Why this mission You will play a central role in large-scale investment projects at a leading life sciences site, with full ownership of a critical safety area.
