About the Role
We are looking for a
Principal Expert–Robotics Motion Control to strengthen our advanced robotics R&D team and drive breakthroughs in robot motion performance.
The role focuses on the development and optimization of robot motion control algorithms , with a strong emphasis on motion efficiency, positioning accuracy, vibration suppression and dynamic performance .
You will work at the intersection of robotics, control theory, servo systems, mechanical dynamics and embedded control , translating theoretical control concepts into measurable improvements at the robot system level.
This is a highly technical, hands‑on role for an experienced robotics engineer who wants to tackle challenging problems in next‑generation industrial robots and contribute to building globally competitive robot platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Advanced Robot Motion Control
- Develop and optimize advanced robot motion control algorithms to improve:
- Motion efficiency and cycle time
- Positioning and trajectory accuracy
- Vibration suppression and settling time
- Dynamic performance and motion smoothness
- Lead one or more technical areas such as motion control, vibration suppression, precision control or dynamic performance optimization .
- Analyze robot system behavior and identify the root causes of performance limitations across mechanical, electrical and control domains.
- 2. Advanced Control & Technology Innovation
- Explore and develop next-generation approaches for robot motion control, including:
- Modern and optimal control
- Model-based control
- Adaptive and robust control
- AI / machine-learning-assisted motion control
- Advanced vibration and resonance suppression
- Evaluate emerging control technologies and translate promising concepts into practical robot applications.
- Develop mathematical models, simulations and algorithms and validate them on real robotic platforms.
- Understand the interaction between robot mechanical structure, reducers, motors, servo drives, encoders, controllers and control algorithms .
- Identify how component characteristics and limitations affect overall robot performance.
• Provide technical recommendations for the optimization of
- Servo motors and drives
- Position and torque sensing
- Robot controller hardware
- Mechanical structures and joints
- Establish a system-level understanding of the relationship between component-level characteristics and robot-level performance.
- Participate in the development and validation of innovative robot architectures and prototype systems.
• Lead or contribute to
- Control algorithm implementation
- Dynamic modeling and simulation
- Performance benchmarking and testing
- Design experiments and analyze test data to validate algorithms and identify further opportunities for performance improvement.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, servo, software and robotics engineers to convert algorithms into production-ready solutions.
- 5. Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers working on robotics motion control.
- Define technical approaches, methodologies and performance targets for advanced motion‑control projects.
- Drive technical problem solving from theoretical analysis through simulation, prototype validation and product implementation.
- Contribute to the development of the company's next‑generation industrial robot control platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's or Ph D degree in
Control Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
10+ years of professional experience in industrial robotics or advanced motion control , with substantial hands‑on experience in robot control algorithm development.
- Strong expertise in robot motion control and robot dynamics .
- Demonstrated experience improving one or more of the following at robot-system level: Motion accuracy, Vibration suppression, Motion efficiency/cycle time, Trajectory tracking, Settling time, or Dynamic performance.
- Strong understanding of control theory and practical experience applying it to real robotic systems.
- Experience with robot dynamics, servo control, vibration control and/or flexible‑body dynamics .
- Ability to connect algorithm‑level development with the physical characteristics of robot mechanisms, motors, reducers and servo systems.
- Strong mathematical modeling, simulation and experimental validation capabilities.
