Physics-based and data-driven modelling of abrasive processes Position: Internship 100% (m/f/d), 6-12 months We are seeking a motivated and talented individual for an intern position in physics-based and data-driven modelling of abrasive processes. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of physics, engineering and data science, contributing to cutting-edge research and development while also improving experimental design methodologies. Key Responsibilities: – Design and develop equipment, conduct experiments, and document results and measurements systemaƟcally – Development of physics-based and/or data-driven models using Python and/or C++ – Perform simulaƟons and analyze results to improve model accuracy – Refine modelling approaches and integrate feedback from experiments – Improve models and simulaƟons to enhance efficiency and reduce computaƟon Ɵme Your Profile: – CiƟzenship/Work Permit: CH/EU/EFTA ciƟzenship or a valid Swiss work permit – EducaƟonal Status: BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering – Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with experimental design; basic knowledge of abrasive and cuƫng processes; experience with Python/C++ for scienƟfic compuƟng and modelling – Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analyƟcal skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex simulaƟon models – Learning Aƫtude: Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies, with a focus on applying them to industrial challenges – Language Skills: Proficiency in English (both wriƩen and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage – Work Ethic: Highly organized, self-moƟvated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaboraƟve team What we offer: – A dynamic and collaboraƟve research environment that drives applicaƟon-oriented innovaƟons – Access to cuƫng-edge tools and resources to support your work – OpportuniƟes to collaborate with leading industry professionals in the manufacturing sector Interested & Eligible?
