As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work across the entire platform, owning critical systems that handle high-volume traffic and data processing in a fast-paced, senior-led environment. Activities Own significant parts of our ad-serving and event-tracking path end-to-end, from design through production, including a share of the on-call rotation. Ship changes that cross the stack in one go, including Go services, dbt models, Terraform modules, and GitOps manifests. Keep the hot path fast and resilient by profiling, caching, and managing latency and throughput. Ensure data correctness and affordability through consistent event schemas, idempotent pipelines, and BigQuery spend management. Help shape platform architecture decisions, including multi-region rollout, storage choices, and streaming vs. batch processing. Requirements 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years building data-intensive or latency-sensitive systems in production. Strong, current experience with Go in production, or deep experience in another systems language (Java, Rust, C++) with a willingness to write Go. Solid SQL and data modeling skills, with hands-on experience in columnar warehouses like BigQuery and event streaming systems. Real performance instincts, including experience tuning Postgres, Redis, connection pools, and gRPC under load. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps.
