To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Applied AI Engineer (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.

As an Applied AI Engineer, you will bring GenAI and machine learning solutions into our products, creating tangible value for our customers, machines and digital applications.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered features and digital products for our machines and digital applications.
• Evaluate and validate new AI use cases regarding technical feasibility and practical implementation.
• Quickly turn new ideas into proofs of concept and minimum viable products.
• Develop machine learning solutions, for example for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and process optimization.
• Develop GenAI applications, such as chatbots, assistance systems and RAG-based applications.
• Select suitable models, frameworks and technologies for our use cases.
• Integrate AI solutions into our IT and OT systems and work with the relevant teams to turn prototypes into production-ready applications.
• Collaborate closely with our machine software developers, data engineers and other specialist teams.
• Provide technical guidance to and coordinate external AI developers and development partners.
• Stay up to date with new developments in AI and assess their practical value for our products and processes.

Your Profile

• A university degree in Applied Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a comparable field.
• Several years of hands-on professional experience developing AI or machine learning solutions.
• Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python.
• Strong expertise in machine learning methods and modern GenAI technologies.
• Experience developing and integrating AI-based services and applications.
• Hands-on experience in training, evaluating and deploying machine learning models.
• The ability to quickly assess new technologies and pragmatically turn them into working prototypes and products.
• The ability to independently drive technical solutions and provide technical leadership to external development partners.
• Strong intrinsic motivation to continuously explore new technologies, combined with a high degree of initiative and ownership.
• Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team and strong communication skills.
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
