Your Responsibilities Excellent research needs state‑of‑the‑art IT and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign ISTA’s digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. As a project manager, you will be a key player in reshaping our digital campus by leading projects, modernizing and optimizing business processes and implementing innovative digital solutions in our SAP landscape.
Lead and manage SAP projects related to FI, CO, PS, MM, WM, ARIBA, SAC and more modules from initial design to successful implementation, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP solutions in close coordination with external implementation partners
Serve as the main contact point for SAP related projects, providing expert guidance for future developments, upgrades, and system integrations
Manage external consultants and subcontractors to ensure efficient delivery and knowledge transfer
Work closely with our IT & Digital Transformation team and key stakeholders across the Institute to foster synergies and drive transformation initiatives
Ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards and align with project objectives and strategic goals
Continuously refine and improve project management methodologies, tools, and best practices at the Institute
Your Profile
Higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Solid experience working with SAP modules such as PS, WM, FICO or SAP Cloud Solutions
Several years of professional experience in IT project management, preferably in SAP or enterprise system implementation projects
In‑depth knowledge of project management methods and tools as well as business process design and SAP Activate is a plus
Sound technical understanding of transformation projects, system integration, and migration to cloud‑based or hybrid environments
Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA or equivalent)
Ideally, experience in designing and implementing change management and digital transformation initiatives
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
You think strategically, act analytically, and are solution‑oriented, demonstrating teamwork, adaptability, and resilience
Experience in research institutes or universities is an advantage
Working language is English; good working knowledge of German is a plus
