The Lab Support Facility (LSF) is launching a new service branch dedicated to single-cell technologies (SCT). We are looking for a highly motivated specialist to take a leading role in establishing, developing, and ensuring the long-term success of this service at ISTA.In this role, you will collaborate closely with researchers across the institute in experimental design, implementation and execution of single-cell sequencing library preparation workflows, and coordination of all resources across the single cell sequencing process. Once the core sequencing operations are in place, the service is planned to expand toward spatial genomics.We are seeking a collaborative, service-minded professional who enjoys working in a dynamic research environment and is committed to providing high-quality, sustainable support to the scientific community at ISTA.
Responsibilities
Lead the setup, implementation, and continuous development of the SCT service
Work closely with researchers, other ISTA Scientific Core Facilities (FACS, bioinformatics), and external sequencing facilities to plan experiments, discuss results, and provide consulting in the field of single cell technologies
Prepare single-cell sequencing libraries using 10X Genomics and other workflows (incl. low and high throughput approaches, multiplexing of samples etc.)
Conduct quality control of single cell suspensions and of generated single cell sequencing libraries
Document procedures and results in line with quality control standards
Support the integration of emerging single-cell technologies and optimize established workflows
Develop and implement clear protocols, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Your Profile
Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Genomics, Biology, or a similar field
Strong understanding and proven hands on experience with single cell sequencing workflows, including low and high throughput, multiplexing, and immune profiling; experience with 10X Genomics workflows is required, additional experience with alternative technologies is a plus
Skilled in preparation of single cell suspensions, including quality control and troubleshooting
Practical experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and workflows
Experience with Spatial Genomics Technologies (SGT) and workflows is a plus
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
Service oriented, well organized working style with a strong sense of responsibility
Effective team player who is also capable of working independently
