I'm currently supporting a leading innovator in high-performance power solutions to appoint a Field Application Engineer (FAE) supporting key European markets.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role at the intersection of engineering and commercial strategy, working across cutting-edge applications including Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Industrial, and High-Performance Computing.
The opportunity This position offers the chance to work closely with customers’ engineering teams, helping to design in advanced power architectures and drive design wins across complex, high-reliability applications.
You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full sales cycle, from early-stage concept through to implementation and support.
Operating within a collaborative, matrix environment, you will partner with Business Development Managers, Account Managers, and internal engineering teams to translate customer requirements into tailored technical solutions.
Key responsibilities In this role, you will provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including product selection based on customer application needs, product introduction, and assistance from electrical, mechanical, and thermal perspectives, as well as troubleshooting customer systems where required.
You will articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical audiences, while building strong relationships across the customer engineering community throughout the sales cycle.
Working closely with direct customers and distribution partners, you will capture technical requirements, act as a liaison to Product Line Engineers, support schematic reviews and existing customer programs, and manage incoming technical inquiries by phone and email.
You will also conduct regular customer visits, prepare and deliver technical seminars and conferences, provide product training to selected customers and distribution branches, and support hands-on product evaluations in local lab environments.
In addition, you will help enable channel demand creation by technically qualifying new opportunities, supporting customers and channel partners on technical issues, and improving the conversion of new design activity into design wins.
Candidate profile Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years’ experience in analog or power supply design, or applications engineering Strong understanding of analog circuit design and power architectures Experience working with or alongside distribution partners is advantageous Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders Comfortable presenting to groups and delivering technical training Commercially aware, with a results-driven and problem-solving mindset Fluent in English and German Familiar with CRM systems (e. g.
