WHO WE ARE
The PR industry hasn't really changed in fifty years. Relationships, lunches, luck, and a clip report at the end of the month.
Interdependence is rebuilding it from the ground up. Interviewed, our proprietary platform, analyzes 300,000+ stories every day across a network of 250,000 journalists. We turn earned media into something measurable, repeatable, and worth paying for - and apply the same data and discipline across paid, social, content, and brand. Integrated marketing run by one team, on one system, accountable to one result.
Forbes named us one of America's Best PR Agencies. Our 100+ person team works with brands, CMOs, founders, and entrepreneurs across consumer, healthcare, tech, B2B, travel and entertainment.
We move fast. The best argument wins. We hire for sharp thinking, real craft, and ownership from day one. If you want comfortable, this isn't the place. If you want to win, build with us.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a sharp, experienced Content Editor to help shape content used across SEO, Generative Engine Optimization, PR, content marketing, reputation management and brand campaigns. A large part of this role involves taking AI-generated content and making it genuinely publication-ready.That means much more than proofreading.
You will be expected to recognize weak writing, repetitive ideas, questionable claims, poor sourcing and content that simply does not accomplish what it is supposed to do. Sometimes that will mean making a few edits. Other times it will mean restructuring a section or rewriting it completely.
The ideal candidate is an excellent editor, a strong researcher and someone who knows when not to trust the first answer AI provides.

- Improve article structure, flow, readability and organization
- Optimize content around keywords, topics and search intent
- Structure information so it can be easily understood by users, search engines and AI platforms
- Edit website content, blog articles, resource content, contributed articles and thought leadership pieces
- Adapt writing for different brands, industries and audiences
- Make sure content aligns with client messaging and positioning
- Review titles, headings, meta descriptions, links and anchor text when needed
- Identify language that could create factual, reputational or brand concerns
- Work closely with SEO, GEO, PR and account teams
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines across different client accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional writing, editing, journalism, content marketing or digital marketing experience
- Excellent editing, rewriting, proofreading and grammar skills
- Strong research and fact-checking ability
- Experience working with AI-generated content
- Ability to recognize when content needs more than surface-level editing
- Working knowledge of SEO and search intent
- Ability to quickly understand and edit content across different industries
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience using generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
- A specific college degree is not required. Strong editing skills, sound judgment and relevant experience are much more important to us.

- PR or earned media experience
- Experience editing content for third-party publications

YOU SHOULD APPLY IF...
- You read AI-generated content and immediately notice what is wrong with it.
- You can tell when a paragraph sounds polished but does not actually say anything useful.
- You question statistics and claims before accepting them.
- You know the difference between a credible source and a weak one.
- You are comfortable deleting an entire section and starting over when that is the best editorial decision.
- You can take a complicated topic, research it quickly and make the content understandable without pretending to be the subject matter expert.
- You understand that good digital content needs to work for the reader first while also supporting search, AI visibility, brand positioning and broader marketing goals.
