Your tasks and responsibilities
Responsible for project controlling and administrative management of third-party funded projects.
Provide proactive guidance to scientific project leaders on financial and administrative matters.
Prepare compliant financial reports (e.g., EU, FFG, FWF) in line with funder rules, internal policies, and national regulations.
Coordinate internal and external audits; maintain audit-ready documentation and oversee follow-up to implement improvements.
Design and refine post-award processes and internal controls for third-party funds.
Develop and maintain reporting tools to enhance data quality and KPIs.
Serve as the primary post-award contact for funding agencies and consortium partners; collaborate with pre-award and legal colleagues on budgeting and contractual compliance.
Your strengths and skills
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Controlling or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience in project controlling, research administration, auditing, or financial management.
Demonstrated experience with public grants - preferably research funding (e.g., Horizon Europe, FFG and FWF), and a proven ability to interpret and apply funding eligibility rules.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and reporting/BI tools is highly desirable.
English and German at a minimum level C1.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail; strong analytical skills.
Professional communication and strong collaboration competencies across diverse stakeholder groups.
