Lead AI Engineer (Cloud, Machine Learning)

The R&D Laboratory of a large multinational company is seeking an experienced engineer to join the AI Platform team, which creates web services, tools, and machine learning models for Sony business units.

The ideal candidate will be a strong software developer with experience in designing and developing cloud-based solutions using Big Data tools and technologies, as well as applying machine learning to build models on various data types (tabular, time series, images).

They will join a project focused on innovative data analytics R&D, building and deploying solutions for different parts of the business.

Profile :

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field, be fluent in English, and possess the following skills and experience.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

5+ years of experience in back-end cloud design, development, and deployment :

• Design and development of RESTful web services: Python, Flask, Java

3+ years of DevOps experience :

• CI / CD
• Docker
• Experience with data analytics and machine learning
• Excellent coding, reviewing, and testing skills
• Good communication and presentation skills

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE :

Data tools and technologies such as :

• Hadoop, Spark, Apache Beam
• TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Knowledge of Haskell, Rust, Golang

Job Start and Duration :

Start date is ASAP. We offer both permanent and temporary contracts. Temporary contracts are for 12 months, with the possibility of extension beyond one year.

The client is an AI and software research & development group, wholly owned by a multinational corporation. They focus on AI and software development for the organization’s products and services. Their offices are in Zaventem, near Brussels, Belgium. The group operates internationally, and English is the working language.
