Job Overview

The Accountant / Accounts Receivable is responsible for managing the school\’s debtor-related financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, payment monitoring, financial reporting, and collaboration with internal departments. The role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the school\’s administration in budgeting and audit processes.

2. Monthly Statements
3. Year-End Closing
4. Field Trips & Extra-Curricular Activities
5. Petty Cash and Claims
6. Donations
7. Liaison with the Förderverein (Friends of ISHR)

Requirements

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR
• Professional accounting certification (\“Steuerfachangestellte\“/Tax Assistant)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or financial administration, preferably in Germany
• Experience with financial software (Fibunet or similar ERP systems)

Skills

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• High level of integrity and confidentiality

Languages

• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken

Work Environment

This position requires frequent interaction with teaching and non-teaching staff, families, external auditors, and financial partners. The role involves independent work as well as cross-departmental collaboration. It requires close and continuous collaboration with the Accounts Payable colleague to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and completeness of all financial transactions and reports.
