Lunchtime and After School Care Supervisor La Châtaigneraie – Primary School (Campus: La Châtaigneraie, Founex, Vaud). 5 days per week (part‑time), fixed‑term 1 year, starting 31 August 2026 or upon agreement. Deadline for applications: 9 July 2026. Reference: 200 020. Reporting to: Lunch and After School Care Coordinator.
The role at a glance
Campus: La Châtaigneraie – Founex, Vaud
Contract: 5 days per week (part‑time) – fixed‑term (1 year)
Start date: 31 August 2026 or upon agreement
Reporting line: Lunch and After School Care Coordinator
Working hours: 1 hour 45 minutes per day for lunchtime supervision; After School Care: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 15:00–18:00 and Wednesday 12:00–18:00.
Responsibilities Lunchtime Supervision
Ensure meals take place in an organised, safe and structured manner, in line with age‑specific school routines.
Encourage participation in preparation, serving and clearing.
Support younger children with meals, routines and expectations.
Supervise older students in queues, during the meal and during plate clearing.
Supervise students during recess, indoor or outdoor depending on weather.
After School Care
Supervise students indoors and outdoors after school.
Plan and lead simple, engaging activities for groups of children.
Help prepare and serve afternoon snacks.
Assist with setting up and tidying resources.
Support calm and organised movement between school, activities, snacks, play and collection.
Safe and Organised Supervision
Maintain a safe, calm, organised and caring environment.
Respond to students’ needs and concerns respectfully and appropriately.
Manage transitions to keep movement calm, organised and safe.
Relationships with Students
Build positive relationships by taking an active interest in each child’s needs.
Adapt approach based on guidance from class teachers, Assistant Principals or other staff.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with class teachers, Assistant Principals and other team members.
Share relevant observations and concerns to ensure information flows both ways.
Professional Expectations
Act as a positive role model for students and colleagues.
Use positive behaviour guidance.
Participate in training as required.
Uphold the school's values of inclusion, equity, respect and care for all members of the community.
Safety and Emergency Response
Participate in first aid training as required.
Remain calm in emergencies, follow instructions and take appropriate initiative.
Other Possible Duties
Occasionally replace class assistants in the Early Years when necessary.
Accompany school excursions when necessary.
Who We Are Looking For
Federal VET Diploma for childcare assistants (ASE), SEFRI equivalence, or recognised early childhood diploma.
Socio‑pedagogical degree with at least 2 years of educational experience.
Skills and Experience
Experience working with children aged 3 to 11.
Fluency in English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
