This position is located in Berlin. It is a Full-time or part-time role with a Temporary contract until 30.09.2028. The salary group is 13 TVöD.
- Your responsibilities
- Innovative screening of metallic high-temperature materials for efficient determination of creep behavior using bending creep tests
- Further development of the existing bending creep device
- Conducting bending creep tests on metallic high-temperature materials for accelerated characterization of creep behavior
- Conducting uniaxial creep tests (tension, compression) and comparing the results
- Characterization of the microstructure-property relationship using optical microscopy, SEM and EBSD
- Correlation of microstructure and creep behavior
- Publication of the results
- Your qualifications
- Completed academic degree (Diploma / Master) in materials science, materials engineering, or a comparable field
- Completed Ph D
- In-depth knowledge of the mechanical behavior and microstructure of metals and their deformation mechanisms at high temperature
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in mechanical testing of high‑temperature materials, including various strain measurement methods
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in microstructural characterization using light and electron microscopy (SEM, EBSD)
- Knowledge of the finite element method is an advantage
- Proven record of publications in recognized international scientific journals
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral); German language proficiency is advantageous
- Good communication and information behaviour, goal‑oriented and structured way of working, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn
