Postdoctoral researcher in Forest Sciences – open topic (all genders welcome)
The Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology at the University of Göttingen invites excellent early‑career researchers to prepare and conduct a fully‑funded three‑year Forst‑Talent Fellowship. The position is funded by the Eva Mayr‑Stihl Foundation and offers a full‑time salary (TV‑L E13, 100 %) together with an additional annual budget for conferences, publications or preliminary experiments.
Position details
- Three‑year full‑time fellowship (TV‑L E13, 100 %)
- Funding proposal preparation for an ERC Grant or an Emmy Noether Programme within the first two years
- Conditional offer of a permanent TV‑L E14 position after a positive interim evaluation following the completion of the fellowship
- Start date: as soon as possible
- Location: University of Göttingen, Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology

Your profile / requirements
- PhD in a field relevant to forest sciences and a completed Master’s degree
- Eligibility to apply for an ERC Starting Grant or the Emmy Noether Programme after two years (ERC: 2–7 years post‑doctoral experience; Emmy Noether: 2–4 years after completing the doctorate)
- Strong research profile and excellent publication record of creative and innovative papers
- Experience in applying for third‑party funding (advantage)
- Scientific creativity and innovation in a pioneering research proposal
