The Clinical Applications Engineer (CAE) reports to the Manager of Clinical Applications Engineering. The CAE plays a critical role in the early adoption of new technology, expanding access to robotic minimally invasive care. This individual will focus on supporting early users through their system learning curve and providing technical expertise during clinical procedures. They will also guide the transition from initial training to proficiency and offer insights to design engineering about system usage nuances within their market.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Provide procedural support to new robotic system sites to ensure safety and effective adoption.
- Collaborate with US Clinical Applications Engineering to support new users during their early learning phase.
- Offer expert clinical product and technical assistance and training to physicians and clinical staff on the effective use of the equipment during procedures.
- Identify concerns related to procedure adoption and work with training teams to address them.
- Maintain open communication with the US Clinical Applications Engineering team and development teams.
- Share best practices and feedback with peers and engineering partners.
- Stay updated on product instructions for use (IFU), troubleshooting, scientific literature, and new product info.
- Prioritize and respond effectively to requests in high-stress environments.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor\’s degree in biomedical engineering or a healthcare-related field.
- At least 3 years of technical or clinical healthcare experience.
- Experience supporting procedures in hospital settings.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working remotely.
- Proficiency in English, with effective communication skills.
- Experience with complex technical systems or in critical patient care settings.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to travel up to 60%, including support on short notice, nights, and weekends.
- Fluent in German is required.
