Head of Finance | Bochum, Germany
Up to €90,000 per annum + substantial ESOP
We are partnering with a deep-tech scale-up in Bochum who manufacture machines which are used in the production of high-performance semiconductors. The technology is proven, demand is growing, and the business is entering a phase where finance needs to scale with it.
They are looking for a Head of Finance to be the CEO’s financial partner and to build a finance function that keeps pace with that growth.
The role
- Own budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, giving management clear visibility of financial performance
- Lead liquidity planning and cash flow management, and negotiate with banks and financing partners
- Oversee project controlling and the accounting function, including monthly and annual financial statements
- Prepare the metrics, analyses and decision frameworks the CEO and executive team need, and turn them into clear recommendations
- Lead and develop the Finance/Accounting team
- Continue to build out finance processes, structures and systems as the company grows
- Act as sparring partner to the CEO on investments, growth decisions and strategy
About you
- Several years of experience in finance, controlling or accounting, including leading a team
- Strong grounding in budgeting, forecasting and cash flow/liquidity management
- Confident with the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (DATEV is a plus)
- Background in a manufacturing or technical engineering environment
- Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, controlling or equivalent
Nice to have
- Experience working with public banks
- Debt or project financing experience
- Exposure to a deep-tech start-up or scale-up
