Job Summary/Objective:

As a Linux Administrator with expertise in AWX/Ansible Tower, your primary objective will be to manage and maintain Linux-based systems while utilizing AWX/Ansible Tower for automation and orchestration tasks. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure by leveraging your deep understanding of Linux administration and AWX/Ansible Tower.

Responsibilities:

• Linux System Administration :
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
  • Implement security measures and follow best practices to protect systems and data.
  • Perform system upgrades and apply patches as necessary.
  • Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
• AWX/Ansible Tower Administration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain AWX/Ansible Tower infrastructure.
  • Design and implement automation workflows and playbooks using Ansible.
  • Manage inventory, variables, and job templates in AWX/Ansible Tower.
  • Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment and configuration processes.
  • Monitor AWX/Ansible Tower performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Scripting and Automation:
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, or other automation tools.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.
  • Integrate AWX/Ansible Tower with other systems and tools.
• System Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Analyze system logs and performance metrics to optimize system resources.
  • Perform capacity planning and recommend hardware or software upgrades as needed.
• Incident Response and Problem Resolution:
  • Respond to system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems promptly.
  • Perform root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate and implement solutions.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Collaborate with team members and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Share knowledge and expertise through documentation and training sessions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong experience with AWX/Ansible Tower, including installation, configuration, and administration.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, and security principles.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Puppet, or Chef, is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor\’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably in enterprise environments.
• Certification in Python.

Work Environment:

• You will primarily work in an office or data center environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Occasional travel may be required to support remote locations or attend training and conferences.
