Your mission
- Develop and implement high-quality, well-tested Python code for our data manager and reporting platform using SQLAlchemy, asyncio, and other Python packages.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to design and implement API endpoints.
- Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability.
- Maintain and improve existing Python libraries.
- Participate in code reviews, testing (unit, system, integration), and technical documentation.
- Work in an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and team collaboration.
Your profile
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented developer with a strong focus on delivering maintainable, scalable, and high-performance Python applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers and product managers, to deliver reliable back-end applications.
Required Qualifications :
- Strong CS Fundamentals : BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Python Expertise : Proven work experience with Python libraries and frameworks not limited to scripting.
- Database Knowledge : Ability to design SQL databases, and implement effective SQL queries using SQLAlchemy.
- Tooling : Familiarity with Python >=3.10, asyncio, unit test, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, etc. libraries.
- Version Control : Experience with Git and version control best practices.
- Linux Knowledge : Basic Linux knowledge is required, Ubuntu preferred.
- Agile/Scrum : Experience working in Agile environments, using tools like Jira.
- Teamwork : Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- English Proficiency : Good command of English for documentation, collaboration, and communication.
- Must be eligible to work in the EU and a resident in Hungary.
- Office Day : Willing to work from an office in Budapest once a week.
Nice-to-Have :
- Familiarity with OpenAPI and its tooling.
- Familiarity with Flask or similar API frameworks.
- Familiarity with Python packaging (e.g., setuptools).
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AWS services, like EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, Lambdas.
