Role & Opportunity We are evolving our real-time transaction processing engine toward a modern, modular architecture capable of handling 5,000–15,000 transactions per second with deterministic, near real-time latency.
As a founding member of this new team, you will be instrumental in defining the processing architecture, benchmarking architectural alternatives, and shaping our transition toward modern languages and concurrent design patterns.
You will work closely with technical leadership to evaluate core trade-offs, drive proof-of-concepts, and set engineering standards for high-performance computing across the organization.
What you will work on Shape the future processing architecture by prototyping, benchmarking, and evaluating modern technology options (Rust and modern C++).
Profile existing hot-path execution models to establish empirical baselines (p50 through p99.9 latency distributions).
Design and implement high-throughput, lock-free, and shared-nothing concurrency models.
Help define inter-process communication (IPC) and service boundary contracts for both co-located and distributed deployments.
Build deterministic testing harnesses, sanitizer pipelines (ASan, TSan), and regression suites to guarantee correctness under sustained high loads.
Embed structured observability (metrics, distributed traces) directly into performance-critical paths without introducing latency jitter.
Work closely with leadership to guide architectural decisions, toolchain choices, and team coding practices.
Requirements Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong hands-on programming experience with Rust and/or modern C++ (17/20/23) in performance-sensitive or low-latency systems.
Deep understanding of concurrent programming: memory models, cache efficiency, synchronization primitives, and lock-free data structures.
Experience with profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing applications on Linux.
Strong analytical mindset: ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs with empirical data.
Collaborative mindset and eagerness to actively shape technology choices and team practices.
Fluent spoken and written English.
Nice to have Experience with high-throughput or real-time transaction processing systems (fintech, trading, telecommunications).
Knowledge of FFI and cross-language interoperability (Rust / C++).
Experience with Open Telemetry or similar observability frameworks.
Familiarity with containerization concepts (Docker).
