Mission Brief

Developing and maintaining CAD activities for the Production Engineering team. You will review parts, assemblies and methods for production readiness, design assembly and test jigs, and build Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will provide technical support and push for best‑in‑class products and practices. Key processes include additive manufacturing, CNC turning and milling, assembly, carbon‑fibre composites, electronics manufacturing and welding, many of which are fully automated.

Responsibilities

  • Check models, assemblies and manufacturing methods and challenge potential difficulties before production release.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing method leads to ensure technical feasibility and high quality standards from the outset.
  • Support engineers in designing components within internal manufacturing constraints and standards.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing efficiency and automation.
  • Design equipment such as mounting fixtures, cleaning fixtures, and CAD models and drawings of related tools.
  • Design and implement Ground Support Equipment jigs, creating CAD models and drawings from quote to build-up and integration checks.
  • Create Manufacturing Bill of Material (mBOM) and Bill of Process (BOP).

Qualification Checklist

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent apprenticeship with at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong practical experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple manufacturing methods, including milling, turning, metal sheet, carbon fibre and additive manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Results‑oriented with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Resilient, self‑motivated and able to work well under pressure.
  • Lean production knowledge.
  • Highly organised and proactive with keen attention to detail.
  • Can‑do attitude and outstanding communication skills. Fluent in English; German is a plus.
