Senior Accountant (m/f/x) | based in Africa We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant for a leading international construction company operating in Africa. The company provides comprehensive services across planning, design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and industrial projects. With more than 50 years of proven expertise, the company has established itself as a key player in the construction industry.
Your Responsibilities
Manage the accounts receivable function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of customer invoices, payment receipts, credit memos, and related transactions
Monitor and reconcile open receivables, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies, outstanding items, and payment delays
Prepare aging reports, cash flow projections, and accounts receivable analyses to provide transparency on outstanding balances and collection performance
Support quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, including reconciliations, schedules, and analysis of receivables balances
Ensure compliance with tax, financial, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting standards
Collaborate closely with sales, project management, commercial management, and finance to resolve billing issues, support revenue recognition, and improve invoicing and receivables processes
Your Profile
University degree
in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Qualification in ACCA, CPA, CA or comparable certification is a plus
Several years of working experience in accounting and accounts receivable, ideally in an international or project‑driven environment
Fluent business English , both written and spoken
Strong knowledge in
IFRS
is required and very good
SAP
skills (SAP S/4HANA ; SAP R3 FI/CO is a plus)
Hands‑on mentality, strong leadership skills, detail‑orientation in handling financial data, team player
