FWW Fundservices GmbH is one of the leading providers of fund data and fund information in the German-speaking market. For more than 35 years, we have been supplying banks, insurers, asset management companies, distribution platforms and media with verified fund data, fund documents and analyses covering the entire fund market. As part of the international ISS STOXX group, we combine the stability of an established specialist with the opportunities of a global organisation.
The fund market is changing: new regulatory data formats (EMT, EET, EPT), European document processes, new product classes such as ETFs, ETCs and ELTIFs, and AI-supported data processing open up significant growth opportunities for us. To seize them, we are building a new innovation and development unit – and we are looking for its first key hire.
Your role
You will be the first member of our new development unit and lay its technical foundation. You develop hands-on – and at the same time help shape how the unit grows: as the team expands, you can progressively take on its technical leadership. We are hiring someone who builds and understands.
Your responsibilities
- Design and development of new database and data-processing solutions for regulatory fund data formats (incl. EMT/EET/EPT) – from data model and processing pipelines to client-facing interfaces
- Building processes for handling and distributing European fund documents
- Development and roll‑out of AI-supported tools, e.g. for automated data extraction from fund documents and for supporting data maintenance
- Close collaboration with our business departments (incl. fund data editorial team and client support) and with IT: capturing requirements, prioritizing them and translating them into robust solutions
- Technical assessment of make-or-buy decisions and collaboration with development resources across the ISS STOXX group and external partners
- Helping shape the build‑up of the unit: standards, knowledge management and – as the team grows – selecting and leading new team members
Your profile
- Several years of professional experience (approx. 5+ years) in backend and data platform development: relational databases, data modelling, APIs/interfaces, data pipelines
- Hands‑on experience with AI-supported data processing, ideally LLM-based extraction and automation of document and data processes – applied in production systems
- Experience with common data formats (e.g., XML, JSON), SQL, and programming languages such as Python
- A proven track record of taking solutions from requirements all the way into stable operation
- Enjoyment of working with business departments and the ability to translate between business and technical perspectives
- Business‑fluent in both, German and English language.
What sets you apart (nice to have)
- Knowledge of the fund or financial data domain, e.g. exposure to EMT/EET/EPT, FinDatEx templates or WM data
- First experience in project management
- Experience of working within a corporate group environment
What we offer
- A key role with real creative freedom: you help build the unit from day one
- Visible impact: your solutions contribute directly to the company’s growth areas
- An established company with short decision paths – backed by the perspectives and resources of the international ISS STOXX group
- Hybrid working: 3 days at our office in Haar near Munich, 2 days remote
- A collegial team with deep fund market expertise and modern equipment
