Overview About JAGGAER
JAGGAER provides an intelligent Source-to-Pay and Supplier Collaboration Platform that empowers organizations to manage and automate complex processes while enabling a highly resilient, responsible, and integrated supplier base. With 30 years of expertise, we specialize in solving complex procurement and supply chain challenges across various industries. Our 1,300+ global employees are obsessed with ensuring customers get full value from our products – ultimately enhancing and transforming their businesses.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a VP, Legal to lead our European legal function as we scale. This is a leadership role for someone who thinks as much about how legal work gets done as what legal work gets done – someone who can build a team and a system, not just clear a queue. You’ll manage a team of corporate and commercial lawyers, own commercial contracting end-to-end for our European customers and partners, and support corporate governance and M&A activity. Just as importantly, you’ll reimagine how the legal function operates: identifying where technology, process redesign, and smarter workflows can dramatically expand what the team is capable of, so legal becomes an accelerant for the business.
Principal Responsibilities
Commercial Contracting:
Own the commercial contracting function, including playbooks, templates, negotiation strategy, and escalation paths. Set the standard for turnaround time and risk calibration as deal volume grows.
Corporate Governance & M&A:
Support local corporate governance matters (entity management; compliance) and play a role in European M&A activity – diligence, integration support, and related transactional work.
Team Leadership:
Manage, coach, and grow a team of corporate and commercial lawyers. Set priorities, develop talent, and build a culture of high ownership and pragmatic judgment.
Operational Transformation:
Take a hard look at how the team works today and redesign it for where the business is going. Support the evaluation and implementation of contract lifecycle management tools, AI‑assisted drafting and review, workflow automation, and self‑service resources for the business. Help to build scalable processes that let the team support significantly more volume and complexity without proportional headcount growth.
Cross‑Functional Partnership:
Work closely with Sales, Finance, Revenue Operations, Product, and other business partners to embed legal into their workflows rather than sit downstream of them. Identify friction points in how the business engages legal and fix them.
Position Requirements Must Have:
JD and active bar membership in good standing
10+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant in‑house experience at a B2B SaaS or technology company
Deep expertise in commercial contracting (SaaS agreements, MSAs, data/privacy terms, partnership and vendor agreements)
Prior experience managing and developing a legal team
A track record of building or significantly improving legal operations – not just using tools, but choosing and implementing them, and redesigning workflows around them
Strong business judgment and comfort operating with ambiguity and incomplete information
Excellent communication skills and the credibility to influence senior stakeholders across the business
A bias toward pragmatic, scalable solutions over perfect, bespoke ones
Nice to Have:
Experience with corporate governance and M&A
Experience with European data privacy and AI regulatory frameworks
What We Offer
We offer an international and professional working environment with a collaborative and inclusive culture.
You will benefit from flexible hybrid working arrangements, combining office presence and remote work to support different working styles.
Additional benefits include an annual Wiener Linien pass (job ticket), a daily meal allowance of €7, and various employee discounts.
We foster open communication and provide a modern office environment that supports collaboration and innovation.
Compensation The minimum salary according to the applicable collective bargaining agreement (Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte von Unternehmen im Bereich Dienstleistungen in der automatischen Datenverarbeitung und Informationstechnik) is € 84,826 gross per year (job family according to collective bargaining agreement: LT), with a willingness to overpay depending on qualifications and experience. The final offer will be determined based on objective, gender‑neutral criteria such as relevant experience, skills, and job‑related competencies.
Equal Opportunity:
We are committed to creating a fair, inclusive, and supportive workplace for all. All employment decisions are based on objective and gender‑neutral criteria. We do not request or consider information about current or past compensation during the hiring process.
