We are supporting a well-established engineering consultancy delivering critical grid infrastructure projects across Germany. With significant investment being made into the country's energy transition and transmission network, our client is seeking experienced Primary Design Engineers to support a growing portfolio of HV and EHV projects.
The Role
As a Primary Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations, supporting projects from concept through to detailed design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Primary engineering for substations from 110kV to 380kV
- Development of technical concepts and detailed designs
- Preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation
- Design of switchgear layouts, transformers, busbar systems and associated equipment
- Coordination with multidisciplinary project teams
- Technical support during project execution and delivery
- Ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience within transmission, distribution or substation engineering projects
- Strong understanding of primary electrical systems
- Experience with AIS and/or GIS substations
- Knowledge of HV infrastructure and grid projects
- German language skills are advantageous
