Overview

In this role you lead the newly established applied behavioural science capability at JTI, turning theory into actionable insights that inform product design, experiences and consumer decisions around reduced risk products. You’ll build a scalable, evidence-driven practice across R&D, Innovation, and commercial functions, aligning science with real-world execution. You’ll design experiments and decisions that shape propositions, communications, and go-to-market strategies. This is a rare chance to shape a global behavioral science agenda with tangible harm-reduction impact.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Define and lead JTI’s applied behavioural science strategy for reduced risk propositions, design, and commercialization
  • Oversee a portfolio of behavioural science projects—from practical applications to deeper, theory-driven studies
  • Diagnose behavioural drivers of reduced risk choice and identify mechanisms like framing, defaults, social influence and friction
  • Translate theory into clear, evidence-led inputs guiding portfolio direction, prioritization and go-to-market strategy
  • Design and oversee real-life and digital experiments, embedding interventions to boost trial, adoption and long-term engagement
  • Inform behavioural communication strategy and choice architecture across offline and online touchpoints
  • Establish frameworks, tools, and standards enabling cross-functional teams to apply behavioural science
  • Partner with Legal and Regulatory Affairs to ensure ethical, credible approaches

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • 10–12+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Postgraduate degree (PhD/MSc) in applied behavioural science, behavioural economics, psychology or related field
  • Deep expertise in behavioural science theories with strong applied industry experience
  • Proven ability to translate theories into commercial, innovation, and communication outcomes
  • Experience designing and running in-market experiments (A/B tests, RCTs, causal inference)
  • Strong understanding of mechanisms like choice architecture, behaviour formation, and social influence
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication across scientific, commercial, and innovation teams
  • Pragmatic, impact-focused mindset with commitment to scientific rigor, ethics, and real-world applicability
  • Previous experience leading teams and delivering a strategic vision
