The Mission As a Simulation & Test Automation Engineer (M/W/D), you will turn our PX4- and Unreal Engine-based VTOL simulator into an automated testing and training platform. You will replace manual, operator-driven simulation tests with repeatable automated workflows that validate multi-copter, fixed-wing, and transition-flight behaviour before it reaches real aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain an automated simulation test platform for our VTOL drone system.
Develop tools to execute tests, analyze telemetry and flight logs, and evaluate pass/fail criteria.
Integrate simulation tests into development and release workflows, including CI/CD where applicable.
Collaborate with flight software, GNC, operations, and testing teams to turn real-world needs into automated test scenarios.
Requirements
Experience with software testing, test automation, simulation, robotics, drones, or autonomous systems.
Proficiency in C++.
Familiarity with Linux development environments.
Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar automation infrastructure.
Ability to work across multiple software components and communicate clearly with engineers and operators.
Nice To Haves
Experience with PX4, MAVLink, QGroundControl, or similar drone/autopilot ecosystems.
Experience with Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, or Model-in-the-Loop testing.
Experience with Unreal Engine, Gazebo, or other robotics / vehicle simulation environments.
