This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Global EHS Audit and Knowledge Management based in Germany.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic vision and oversight for global EHS audit programs, including compliance audits, focused audits, management system audits, and certification audits.
  • Identify key environmental, health, and safety risks, develop audit plans, manage execution, and deliver comprehensive reporting on findings and recommendations.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of global EHS documentation and management systems, ensuring standards remain current, accessible, and effectively communicated.
  • Design and implement global EHS training programs that improve understanding, engagement, and retention of critical safety and compliance concepts.
  • Analyze compliance status, identify strengths and priority areas, and provide clear recommendations to leadership teams while supporting corrective action implementation.
  • Drive strategic improvements by monitoring industry trends, emerging practices, and opportunities to enhance long-term EHS performance.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives, representing EHS objectives and ensuring alignment with broader organizational priorities.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels to promote effective decision-making, collaboration, and continuous improvement across global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 8–10 years of related experience.
  • Professional EHS certification is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with EHS management systems, auditing principles, compliance programs, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver effective EHS training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical tools and techniques used to identify compliance risks and drive improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global or complex EHS initiatives and collaborating across multiple business functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities, including the ability to manage priorities, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Ability to influence outcomes, resolve conflicts, build relationships, and achieve alignment through collaboration.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate future challenges and translate business needs into actionable EHS solutions.
