Job Description We are seeking an experienced Director Strategic Sourcing. Reporting to the SVP Finance Transformations & Operations, the ideal candidate will work closely with Sportradar’s Divisions and Business units to define the procurement strategy for our strategic suppliers and establish and implement a cost optimization programme across Sportradar. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in contract negotiation and consolidation as well as the implementation of cost-out initiatives in global organizations. Based in our modern Vienna Office, the role will work closely with the operational procurement team as well as with the project team working on transforming SR’s purchasing policy, processes and systems. THE CHALLENGE: Transform the procurement function into a more strategic, value-driven partner across the organization. Conduct a thorough spend analysis and liaise with the Divisions/ Business Units to identify cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities across Regions, Divisions/ Business Units and Procurement Categories. Initiate and implement cost reduction programs, deriving and executing tactics for the purchasing strategy to deliver year–over–year savings. Coordinate and pool sourcing activities across different geographic regions and business units to enhance buying power and realize savings. Consolidation of contracts and reduction of costs for strategic and non-strategic suppliers. Achieve a best-value position with suppliers through tendering, competitive benchmarking and negotiation where multiple, suitable suppliers exist. Analyze Market trends and supplier performance to ensure competitive pricing and optimal service quality. Conducting RFI, RFP, RFQ and evaluation for high-value/long-term contracts, preparing supplier selection and leading contract negotiations. Negotiating favourable conditions and prices with our suppliers worldwide and across procurement categories. Build up very strong relations with Divisions/Business Units and Sportradar Offices to ensure their needs are understood and their expectations are met. Ensure procurement practices adhere to legal and ethical standards and compliance policies. Contribute to the professional development of the procurement team via mentoring and coaching. YOUR PROFILE: At least 10-12 years experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management roles, specifically within Technology (Software, Services, Hardware & Telecom) and Consulting. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology or a related field. A deep understanding of market dynamics as well as Technology contracts, Licensing models, Technology Outsourcing and Managed Services. CIPS, CPSM or equivalent certification is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively at all levels of the organization and influencing key stakeholders. Willingness to constructively dissent and challenge the status quo, paired with a strong continuous improvement and change mindset. Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing cost out initiatives. Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and business needs. Proactive work style with high self-motivation. Ability to travel internationally.
