Job Purpose In this global role, you will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive software technology strategy as well as managing a team of managers and engineers in various fields such as Data scientists, AI, Cybersecurity or embedded firmware. You will bring a combination of strategic thinking, technical know-how and tactical execution to create and implement strategies to define and execute a software product roadmap for highly complex projects. At EnerSys, new ideas have a way of becoming new products and services offering an extraordinary customer experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with Sr management to define and articulate technology/product strategy and roadmap based on market dynamics. Develop a strategic and tactical plan for IOT/AI implementation towards Energy management across different NPIs (DC Fast charge, C&I, MP chargers). Manage a portfolio of various technology platforms and projects to build scalable applications using Baukasten principles to meet the needs of our customers. Continuously improve software and Firmware design processes and practices. Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities (such as CharIN) and mentor other members of the engineering groups. Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking. Organize and evolve a growing engineering team to optimize quality and velocity. Encourage product ownership and foster collaborative development. Experience building or working with the popular cloud data and analytics platforms (such as Azure) and managing large Data Lakes. Deep technical understanding of the IoT and wireless device telemetry including technical tradeoffs between various protocols and topologies. Ability to constructively engage with 3rd party providers to oversee and drive systems integration and requirements to meet various Analytics demands in an Agile environment. Qualifications Bachelor\’s or master\’s degree or equivalent in computer science, or related engineering field. Engineering management experience in a software environment. 5-10 years of experience with IoT and launching enterprise software. Significant programming experience in C, Linux, Python, or like languages. Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto). Experience with containers. Experience of deploying embedded and IoT solutions – from hardware and operating systems through applications and cloud services. Experience with security technologies (certs) and best practices. Experience with source control system.
