JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage, and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders, and customized management services. Position Overview: Responsible for facilitating the movement of products, equipment, and materials out of the country via air freight, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international laws. Providing customer service to exporting clients, including bookings, rates, document production, accounting, agent interaction, and problem resolution. Essential Functions: Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all air export activities. Coordinate cargo pickup and transfer; monitor shipment status. Communicate with export authorities, customers, and suppliers across relevant territories to ensure lawful and efficient operations. Manage and update carrier and vendor rates; obtain spot rates as needed. Correspond with overseas agents and clients regarding pre-alerts, rate requests, and shipment statuses. Track shipments and update customers and agents accordingly. Create and maintain customer files. Handle customer invoicing and payable approvals. Audit files for accuracy and completeness. Interact professionally and courteously with coworkers. Complete JWS entry and documentation. Assist other departments or divisions as needed, or upon request by management. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of customs laws, practices, and procedures. Ability to perform essential duties safely without posing health or safety risks. Positive and effective interaction with coworkers, subordinates, and supervisors. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Additional languages are a plus. Geographical knowledge preferred. Experience in the freight forwarding industry is advantageous. Environment: The role is performed 100% in a climate-controlled office environment under normal conditions. Travel up to a specified percentage may be required to support responsibilities. Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle objects. The role may require lifting up to 25 pounds and working in a fast-paced environment.
