Job DescriptionJAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage, and other supply chain management services, including consulting, purchase order coordination, and customized management services.This position is responsible for facilitating the movement of products, equipment, and materials in and out of the country via road freight, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations. The role includes providing customer service to road freight clients, handling bookings, rates, document production, accounting, customer interactions, and problem-solving.Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all road freight activities.Coordinate pickups and transfers, and monitor shipment status.Communicate with authorities, customers, and suppliers across relevant territories and countries to ensure efficient, lawful, and positive relations and activities.Manage and update carrier and vendor rates; obtain spot rates as needed.Correspond with agents and clients in a timely manner, including pre-alerts, requests, and status updates.Track freight movements and keep customers and agents informed of status.Create and maintain customer files.Handle customer invoicing and approval of payables.Audit files to ensure accuracy and completeness.Interact professionally and courteously with coworkers.Assist other departments as needed or upon request from management.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will not directly or indirectly supervise employees.QualificationsTeam player with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle unexpected situations effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proactive thinking with effective problem resolution skills.Respectful attitude towards management and colleagues.Ability to perform essential duties safely without posing a threat to health or safety.Positive and effective interaction with coworkers, subordinates, and supervisors.Education and Experience3-5 years of experience in a similar role.High School Diploma or GED.Additional language skills are a plus.Geographical knowledge relevant to the role.Previous experience with CargoWise or similar platforms is a plus.Experience in the freight forwarding industry is advantageous.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Travel up to __% may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.Employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, and hear. Frequent physical activities include stopping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting weights up to 25 pounds.
