The role
Accounting here is closely tied to how the business operates.
As Accounting Lead, you will own the full accounting cycle while helping build the systems, processes and infrastructure needed for scale. This is a hands‑on role in an environment where structure is still being defined.
You will report directly to the CFO and work closely with FP&A, external advisors, auditors and operational teams across the business.
You will also inherit existing external accounting support and tax expertise, providing continuity from day one while you build internal capability and structure.
What you will do
- Own monthly and annual close processes and improve speed, accuracy and automation over time
- Manage end-to-end Order-to-Cash and Purchase-to-Pay workflows
- Run core accounting operations (AP, AR, GL) using existing tools while supporting a transition toward a scalable ERP system
- Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of a future ERP solution
- Improve VAT and tax reporting processes by reducing manual work and increasing system integration
- Act as key point of contact for auditors, tax advisors and external authorities
- Help transition the finance function toward a more automated and scalable operating model
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance (startup or scale-up experience essential)
- Someone who has actively chosen to work in fast-moving, high‑ownership environments rather than structured corporate settings
- Experience improving or building accounting processes in environments where systems are still evolving
- Hands‑on exposure to accounting systems and ERP‑related work
- Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash and Purchase-to-Pay processes
- Solid knowledge of German GAAP; IFRS is a plus
- Fluency in German and English
- Comfortable working in environments where priorities can shift and processes are still being built
- Genuine interest in automation, systems and improving how finance operations run
