Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, and evaluate training programs for new hires and continuing education of MSLs and other GMA colleagues
- Collaborate with senior management, Clinical Practice Liaisons, MSL Field Directors, MSLs, Medical Affairs counterparts, and cross-functional partners
- Oversee development of timely, accurate, and strategic field resources with Medical Communications and Medical Information teams
- Drive pull-through of materials into field platforms and department-wide communications
- Maintain relevant systems, including Veeva Portal, Mobile Locker, and X-Fly Medical Insights
- Assist senior leaders with medical insights queries and special projects
- Develop tailored onboarding plans, oversee mentoring, facilitate training meetings, and maintain onboarding materials
- Execute training through classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, role play, self-study, meetings, conferences, workshops, videoconferencing, and web-based learning
- Coordinate ongoing technical training and professional development programs
- Oversee development and updating of field resources such as slides, FAQs, and talking points
- Partner with Global Medical Affairs, product development, and subject-matter experts to develop disease and product training
- Prepare budgets and justify required funds
- Develop and adjust learning plans based on competencies, organizational changes, and external factors
- Conduct learning-needs assessments and prioritize educational needs
- Monitor Medical Affairs strategy and propose, plan, and develop new or improved learning programs
- Evaluate instructor performance and learning-program effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Oversee trainers and external vendors/KOLs
- Identify knowledge gaps, treatment paradigms, and guidelines
- Ensure work follows compliance policies and standards
- Lead development of Key Intelligence questions
- Plan and execute pre-conference data reviews and ensure UT data is approved and ready for field use
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in life sciences with 12+ years of experience in Medical Affairs supporting specialty care compounds/products or clinical practice in PAH/PH-ILD/ILD patient care, or a combination of both
- Master's Degree, Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in clinical areas of interest preferably with 10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs supporting specialty care compounds/products or clinical practice in PAH/PH-ILD/ILD patient care, or a combination of both
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in clinical areas of interest preferably with 7+ years of experience in Medical Affairs supporting specialty care compounds/products or clinical practice in PAH/PH-ILD/ILD patient care, or a combination of both
- 3+ years of industry medical affairs experience in HCP-facing roles, or 3+ years of clinical or medical affairs experience in PAH/ILD therapeutic areas
- Current working knowledge of local legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with health-care professionals
- Ability to operate in ambiguity, solve problems productively, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to develop strategic plans, goals, and objectives
- Effective communication at all levels of leadership and with individual contributors
- Experience partnering across functions and departments
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to coordinate and implement multiple projects within a complex matrix environment and communicate technical information to diverse audiences
- Proactive and innovative mindset
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Prior curriculum development, education outcome assessment, and application of adult learning principles preferred
