- Contribute to bridge projects involving structural and civil design, from feasibility studies through implementation
- Serve as Project Manager on selected assignments
- Ensure technical excellence, effective coordination, and strong client relationships
- Plan and manage project delivery, resources, and project administration
- Develop bridge concepts, drawings, and details in collaboration with architects and urban planners
- Prepare, review, and take responsibility for technical solutions from preliminary design through implementation
- Lead and coordinate engineers and detailers, including work planning, technical guidance, and quality assurance
- Communicate directly with clients
- Keep relevant Buro Happold colleagues informed about key client and project matters
- Help build the team and contribute experience in the civil design of bridges
- Collaborate with leading architects and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Experienced bridge engineer
- Extensive knowledge of bridge engineering
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably with a specialization in structural engineering
- Experience in the civil design of bridges
- Experience in the structural design of bridges
- Ability to assume technical responsibility for bridge design packages
- Ability to deliver work in accordance with agreed standards, budgets, and schedules
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to interact confidently and directly with clients, architects, and other consultants
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and detailers and support their professional development
- Experience in the design of architectural bridges and international projects is advantageous but not essential
- Commercial and contractual understanding, including experience in bid preparation and fee management, is advantageous but not essential
