Biblical Counseling Online Adjunct – Graduate Program

• Model excellence in teaching and learning
• Distribute departmental communication according to established guidelines
• Ensure instruction is academically defensible and compatible with Liberty University’s Christian worldview and doctrinal statement
• Develop faculty who encourage independent thinking and critical discussion
• Establish appropriate course requirements and evaluate student progress through grading and consultation
• Supervise, mentor, and support up to 30 online faculty members
• Act as liaison between online faculty and the Online Chair
• Analyze course and faculty performance and inform the Online Chair of concerns
• Conduct portfolio and qualitative evaluations of online faculty
• Mentor faculty regarding performance and compliance with course instruction guidelines
• Assist with student conflict resolution
• Investigate student appeals and recommend action to the Online Chair
• Fulfill contracted teaching assignment by the end of the academic year
• Communicate weekly with online faculty by email and phone
• Communicate policies, procedures, deadlines, and directives
• Respond to cohort questions within 24 hours
• Attend Instructional Mentor meetings via conference call
• Participate in University, College/School, or departmental committees and special projects
• Attend special University events
• Encourage Christian life, integrity, social responsibility, and communication of the Christian faith
• Support Liberty University’s doctrinal beliefs and spiritual development mission

Requirements

• Must hold a conferred terminal degree (Ph.D. or Th.D.) in Pastoral Counseling, Biblical Counseling, Community Care and Counseling, Counseling, Counselor Education and Family Studies, Counseling Psychology, Pastoral Care and Counseling, Human Services, Crisis Counseling, Traumatology, Ethics, Social Work, or another related area
• Teaching experience
• Understanding of technologies associated with online education
• Passion for faculty mentoring
• Commitment to the mission and purpose of Liberty University
• History of outstanding teaching and student mentorship preferred
• Administrative experience in higher education with assessment, course outcomes, and/or accreditation preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English
• Public communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to contribute to a team environment
• Ability to work collegially and respectfully
• Ability to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems
• Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations
