  • Coordinate and deliver commissioning services throughout facility planning, design, construction, warranty, and operations lifecycles
  • Execute commissioning, energy management, and facilities management services for new and existing buildings across multiple concurrent projects
  • Analyze and interpret RFPs, design and construction documents, standards, codes, scopes, and project deliverables
  • Prepare commissioning plans, specifications, checklists, functional performance tests, and reports
  • Conduct design reviews, submittal reviews, training-plan reviews and facilitation, and O&M manual reviews
  • Conduct site observations and witness functional performance testing
  • Resolve coordination issues affecting equipment, systems startup, and testing activities
  • Ensure conformance with project requirements, commissioning plans, and contract documents
  • Attend internal and external project meetings
  • Review technical reports for completeness and accuracy, including start-up reports, checkout sheets, and test reports
  • Facilitate transition of systems to operations and implementation of maintenance programs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal staff, external team members, and clients
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams
  • Support preparation of bid and proposal documentation
  • Adhere to SOPs and processes
  • Prepare project estimates, schedules, and work plans
  • Conduct project reviews and prepare status reports and presentations for the company and/or client
  • Conduct quality assurance on project deliverables and activities
  • Prioritize tasks and perform work efficiently within defined budgets and schedules
  • Coach junior staff and review their work as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • A High School Diploma and 13 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • At least 8 years of direct experience in commissioning facilities systems such as lighting, HVAC, power distribution, generation, power monitoring and controls, UPS, and emergency power
  • At least 4 years of experience managing or supervising people
  • At least 2 years of experience managing commissioning and/or engineering-related projects
  • A CxA, CCP, CBCP, or equivalent Commissioning Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of commissioning standards and practices, including LEED, ASHRAE, BCA, ACG, and GSA
  • Direct experience with ASHRAE Energy Audits and related energy engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, MS Project, PowerPoint) and scheduling software
  • Valid State Issued Driver's License and ability to travel to various work sites
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance based on customer and project requirements
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
  • Preferred: Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • Preferred: Experience integrating mechanical systems with electrical, life safety, and security systems
  • Preferred: Experience with database management systems for commissioning and core business processes
  • Must be able to work in an office environment
  • Must be able to walk construction sites with uneven surfaces, carry up to 25 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, work indoors and outdoors in severe weather, confined spaces, and dust-generating environments
  • Must maintain spatial awareness and comply with safety standards near mechanical and electrical building equipment and systems
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
